Zelensky reacted to Russia's threats to disrupt the export of Ukrainian grain

by alex

The situation around the export grain initiative is becoming tense, Russia is trying to slow down the export of Ukrainian food.

About this President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an evening address to Ukrainians. He stressed that by these actions Russia is quite deliberately fueling the food crisis.

Today, more than 150 vessels are in line to fulfill contractual obligations to supply our agricultural products. This is an artificial line. It arose only because Russia deliberately delays the passage of ships,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President explained that every day that ships with food stand in line means an increase in social and political tension in countries that consume our agricultural products.< /p>

Volodymyr Zelenskyy listed the states where food exports are delayed due to Russia's fault: Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Iraq, China, Bangladesh, Indonesia.

Ukraine underexported 3 million tons of grain

At the same time, the President noted that our partners – the UN, Turkey and others are fully aware of this situation.

For During the work of our grain initiative, due to the Russian slowdown, we underexported about three million tons of food. And this is the annual consumption for 10 million people,” Zelensky stressed.

The President reiterated that Russia “is doing everything so that at least hundreds of thousands of these people become forced migrants who will seek asylum in Turkey or the EU countries, or they will die of starvation.”

But he added that the Ukrainian side, together with partners, will do everything to ensure that the grain initiative not only survives, but also works at 100% capacity.
