Head of Government Denis Shmygal reported on measures to protect energy facilities: active protection, electronic warfare and everything else.
Zelensky noted that the prime minister also reported on restoration and our work with European partners to expand electricity imports to Ukraine.
— Now we are fully choosing the volume of imports that is agreed with the EU, and I am grateful to all our neighbors for this help. We are doing everything to increase imports, and this must be a European decision. Our officials are working on the appropriate consent, — said the President.
The President instructed Vice Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov to present an analysis of telecom operators: what is being done to ensure communication during power outages and which telecom operators do not adhere to the appropriate decisions.
— I also instructed the Minister of Energy to inform people literally on a daily basis about the state of work in the energy sector, about existing deficits and what the country is doing to fill them. The government must work much more actively to ensure that our people and our companies have more opportunities to purchase, produce, install all the necessary equipment to get through this difficult period, — emphasized the head of state.
Zelensky also commented on the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Kyiv. He called it a clear signal of how important it is for all of us in Europe to remain united and take steps together.
— They talked a lot about the path to peace, and specifically to a just, lasting, honest peace. I thanked both for participation in the Peace Summit and for supporting the communiqué. I spoke about what we have already achieved with our partners in our work between summits, preparing for the second Peace Summit. There are good developments, and there will be even more, — he said.
The President added that he invited Orbán to join in related efforts. He noted that “we see that this is a completely different relationship between Ukraine and Hungary: concrete and we take into account mutual interests”.
Recall that on July 2, a meeting will take place at the Pentagon with the participation of the US and Ukrainian defense ministers Lloyd Austin and Rustem Umerov, respectively. They are expected to discuss strengthening the partnership.
