President Vladimir Zelensky initiated the termination of the Consular Convention between Ukraine and Russia. He submitted a corresponding bill to the Verkhovna Rada.

Consular Convention: what is this document?
The Consular Convention between Ukraine and the Russian Federation was signed on January 15, 1993, and ratified in February 1994. The document came into force in November 1995.
This agreement regulates the opening of consular posts, the appointment and admission of heads of consulates, the rights and functions of consuls.
After a full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, Ukraine severed diplomatic relations with the aggressor country.
