Zelensky initiated a bill to deprive traitors of state awards

by alex

President Vladimir Zelensky initiated a bill to deprive state awards for popularizing or propaganda of an aggressor state or committing other illegal actions against Ukraine.

He announced this in his video message.

— I have initiated a bill that can restore justice in the questions of who we respect and who, as a result of their own actions, has lost the right to any respect from Ukrainians. This is a bill to amend the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and other legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the deprivation of state awards for popularizing or propaganda of the aggressor state or committing other illegal actions against Ukraine, — he emphasized.

This sanction applies to those who received state awards of Ukraine, including the Hero of Ukraine, the Order of Merit and others, but chose for themselves not Ukraine, but an enemy and now supports Russia in one way or another or is generally on its territory.

— We need a legal mechanism to actually deprive such persons of all state awards and honorary titles. They deserve only one “title”: traitors. And “reward” They will be held accountable to Ukraine and our people for everything they have done against Ukraine, against our state, against our independence. I ask the Verkhovna Rada to consider this bill in the near future, — noted the head of state.

In addition, Zelensky signed a decree on awarding state awards to 266 soldiers of various elements of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
