As Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his address to the Ukrainians, 11.5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers received awards for their valor, courage and heroism. A decree on the award of another 286 soldiers was signed on May 5.
New distinction
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the establishment of an honorary distinction “For courage and bravery.” It will be given to soldiers who distinguished themselves by special heroism in defending Ukraine, conducting military operations or performing special tasks.
The honorary distinction “For Courage and Courage” is awarded by the President of Ukraine on the proposal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, respectively, the decree says.
If a military unit receives a military distinction, the distinction will be depicted on its flag. Also, soldiers from this unit can wear special signs on their chests, which will indicate their belonging to the unit that received the distinction.
The decree came into force from the date of publication, that is, from May 5, 2022.
