Zelensky announced the second part of relations with Russia/Channel 24 Collage
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that for him, the victory of Ukraine is reaching the border lines established before the Russian invasion. At the same time, it is worth achieving this without unnecessary losses among our military.
He stated this in an interview on the occasion of the third anniversary of the inauguration. Zelensky stressed that the war will end at the negotiating table, and its results will be formalized diplomatically.
How Ukraine plans to end the war
Zelensky noted that it was not Ukraine that started this war, but we should end it. At present, the Armed Forces of our state have already shown that they can repulse one of the greatest armies in the world. After this clash, according to the president, Russia will not get back on its feet for several more years.
Having repelled the enemy offensive, our state has two goals:
- save as many military lives as possible,
- return the territories belonging to Ukraine.
The President stressed that we paid for the first stage of the struggle with the lives of Ukrainians – this is a very expensive price, so everything possible should be done so that the second part of relations with Russia takes place at the negotiating table.
“Entering this temporary line of demarcation will be a victory. It will say that they did not capture us and we defended our land. And then we will move on to the second part. at the negotiating table. And so that justice would be the result of this conversation,” Zelensky stressed.
At present, the negotiation process is frozen
Recall, Advisor to the Head of the Office President Mikhail Podolyak said that the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia on ending the war were suspended. After the meeting in Istanbul, there was no progress in the negotiations.
Podolyak said that Ukraine is open to constructive dialogue and is ready to build its negotiating positions According to him, President Volodymyr Zelensky is also involved in moderating this process. For more than 80 days of war, Russia did not understand that the situation in Ukraine differs from the picture drawn by the Kremlin.
However, Podolyak stressed that so far we are not talking about “withdrawal or not withdrawing” of Ukraine from the negotiations, but only about the expediency of the process and the specifics at this stage.
