— Ukraine has fulfilled its part of its obligations. We have once again proven that we are capable, despite unprecedented challenges, of achieving impressive results on our path to the EU. I believe that unity will prevail at tomorrow's meeting of the European Council and the European Union will once again confirm its strength and leadership, — stated the President of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s path to the EU
We recall that at the European Council summit, which will be held on December 14-15 in Brussels, the leaders of the European Union will consider the issue of starting negotiations between Ukraine and the EU.
One of the main obstacles is the position of Hungary, since Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has already stated several times that he will oppose the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU. Without Orban, Ukraine will not be given a decision on the negotiations, since the consent of all 27 member countries is required to make a decision.
Italy, where the head of government is Giorgia Meloni, advocates that Ukraine receive a positive decision at the summit of EU leaders.
