The first lady was asked if she had ever thought about leaving Ukraine.
Yes, indeed. It was my decision (not to leave Ukraine – Channel 24). I had no desire to leave Ukraine. I had no desire to be away from my homeland and away from my husband,” Elena Zelenskaya explained.
Adding that when they don’t even see each other for weeks, she still feels that she is nearby and can send her support . The First Lady also explained:
- it's much harder to see what's going on with your country, your people from afar;
- it's much easier emotionally for her to be here.
“I'm where I want to be. And I am where I should be. It seems to me calmer,” Elena Zelenskaya summed up.
She also urged the French not to forget about the war in Ukraine, not to believe Russian propaganda, and to continue helping Ukrainian refugees.
