She noted that during the war she was more focused on humanitarian projects. Now this task has become even more urgent.
“Thanks to the summit of the first ladies and gentlemen of the world, which I launched last year, we are actively helping Ukrainians abroad. With the help of participants and their governments, as well as thanks to activists and volunteers, we organize the evacuation of sick and orphans to safe places abroad. As well as children whose medical treatment was under threat due to the war,” said Olena Zelenska.
According to her, more than 450 Ukrainian children with cancer were transported, continuing treatment in clinics in Europe, including Spain, the USA and Canada. Every time a group of buses accompanied by doctors crosses the Polish border, it means that dozens more lives have been saved.
Another major initiative is the evacuation of entire orphanages and specialized institutions, where are orphans with complex diseases. – said Olena Zelenska.
“For example, we took a group of 112 children to Tyrol in Austria, as well as two groups to Switzerland,” Zelenska added.
