< p _ngcontent-sc86="" class="news-annotation">On August 30, SBU and NABU officers conducted a series of searches in Zaporozhye. In particular, law enforcement officers searched the building of the city council and the regional military administration.
The Security Service of Ukraine reported the details of the searches in the city council, about which the secretary of the Zaporozhye city council Anatoly Kurtev spoke about on the morning of August 30. As noted in the department, these investigative and operational actions took place on the fact of the alleged misappropriation of humanitarian aid provided to the Zaporozhye region since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
Where the searches were carried out
The counterintelligence service of the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, conducted a series of searches in various institutions in Zaporozhye.
Searchs took place in several places:
- city council;
- regional military administration;
- storage facilities and residential addresses of persons involved in the crime.
What was found during the searches
During the searches of officials of the Zaporozhye City Council, law enforcement officers found a lot of “interesting”.
In particular, the SBU and NABU officers found substances, similar to drugs. They were immediately sent for examination.

They also found unregistered firearms and ammunition. And in addition – a large amount of cash.
Details of the investigation
According to the SBU, an investigation is currently ongoing under 3 articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine :
- h 5 st. 191 (appropriation, embezzlement or possession of property by abuse of official position, committed on an especially large scale or by an organized group);
- Part 3 Art. 209 (legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means, committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale);
- Art. 368-5 (illegal enrichment).
NABU detectives are investigating these facts at the request of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
The situation in Zaporozhye region: latest news
- Deputy of the Energodar City Council allowed the Russians to take Ukrainian property and grain. He was lamented about suspicion under three articles.
- On August 30, an IAEA mission arrived in Ukraine. Specialists should soon visit an inspection at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant to assess the level of nuclear threat.
- The Russian invaders are constantly increasing the level of campaigning activities in preparation for holding a “referendum” in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporozhye region. According to Channel 24 sources in the Ukrainian special services, the Russian special services managed to bribe and threaten to gather a sufficient number of local residents who agreed to join the so-called campaign groups. The task of the collaborators is to walk around the apartments of Ukrainians and convince them to participate in a fake referendum. Anyone who supports the annexation of part of the Zaporozhye region is put on the appropriate lists and is actually obliged to support Russia.
