Former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Defense Forces Valery Zaluzhny will begin work on July 10 Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain.

A few days ago, namely on July 4, information appeared that Zaluzhny had already left for Britain and would soon begin acting as ambassador. Public sources reported this at the time.

Let us recall that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed Valery Zaluzhny as the Ambassador of Ukraine to Britain back in May of this year.

Dismissal of Zaluzhny: the main thing

  • Vladimir Zelensky fired the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 8 Valery Zaluzhny. Then Alexander Syrsky was appointed in his place.
  • A month later, on March 7, it became known that the president had approved Zaluzhny’s candidacy for the post of Ukrainian Ambassador to Britain.
  • In fact, already on May 9, on the website of the head of state, a decree was published on the appointment of Zaluzhny as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
  • On the same day, the British Ambassador in Kyiv Martin Harris published a message on the social network X, where he congratulated Valeriy Zaluzhny on his appointment to the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Britain. He said he looks forward to working together to “strengthen our unbreakable alliance and move forward our century-long partnership,”
