YouTube video hosting has supported Ukraine in the war with Russia from the very beginning of the full-scale offensive. However, now the platform is restricting videos that would help netizens learn the truth about the war.
In early March, the YouTube administration demonstrated its solidarity with Ukraine by blocking the channels of Russian propagandists on video hosting. However, apparently, the support was only enough for a few months of the war, because on October 13 it became known that the platform restricted access to a video in which Putin's mobilized soldier tells the truth about the war.
Block conversation with Russian mobilized
Increasingly, there is information from users that the network is blocking content that is not beneficial to the terrorist state. User Grigory Gratofan published a text on the YouTube support service page in which he described the details of only one of these incidents.
According to him, journalist Vladimir Zolkin managed to talk to the Russian captive, but the platform restricted access to this conversation. As evidence, he cited a recent message from Zolkin himself.
This video was trending and gaining popularity. There is nothing offensive in this. But due to massive complaints from Russia, restrictions were placed on it and on many other videos. At the same time, several old videos were removed from the channel due to the same complaints, the quoted text says.
You can see from the link that there is nothing illegal and immoral in an interview with a Russian soldier. However, you will only be able to do this if you are an authorized user and verify your age.

YouTube administration is unfair towards Ukrainians
In addition, user Grigory Gratofan noted that Zolkin is perhaps the only journalist who was allowed to record a dialogue with a Russian prisoner. He spent a lot of time on this video, put his soul into it, and the platform administration unfairly restricted it and completely blocked other videos. and soul into the creation of each video, over 400 hours of uncut interviews with concrete evidence. I'm just not sure if they (Platform Admins – Channel 24) are keeping a full eye on this issue as it continues. This puts YouTube in a ridiculous and uncomfortable situation,” wrote Gratofan.
He also rhetorically asked if this was fair. In a sarcastic manner, he urged YouTube “not to tell” how the system works, to quote the provision of the condition, the rules, because it is not important. Most importantly, YouTube is supporting a terrorist state, which is hurting the whole world.

PACE recognized Russia as a terrorist group, but YouTube does not want
In his message, journalist Zolkin noted that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recently voted for a resolution on the recognition of the regime of Vladimir Putin in Russia as terrorist. And to satisfy the complaints of users of a terrorist state is, at least, surprising.
Recall , President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to this PACE decision and said that terror must be met with force. The adoption of this resolution, he said, is an important political signal.
