Grobar, who buried
Grobar Igor Sereda helped rebury the dead from mass graves in Bucha. During the occupation of the city, the man remained in the Kyiv region and continued his work.
Igor was engaged in funeral services in Nemeshaevo, near Bucha, even before the war. You can even say – since childhood, because this is his father's business.
Kafirs did not allow taking the dead to the cemetery
Igor says that in during the stay of the Russian military in the villages of the community, people were also buried in the yards. The Russians were not allowed to go to the cemetery.
I remember that in Mikulichi the Russian military formed a column near the house where a man died and did not allow the body to be taken out. Some managed to negotiate with the invaders, but this was at their own peril and risk.
We arrived at the cemetery, three submachine gunners stood around us, we were not allowed to raise our heads. You dig a hole and think: will you be in that hole or not, – recalls Igor.
He adds that he often had to bury the deceased without a coffin, because they could not bring him from a neighboring village.
How the bodies were exhumed from Bucha
When the Kiev region was fired, Igor found out about the exhumation from mass graves. He called the head of the cemetery and said he was ready to help.
According to Igor, in Bucha the work is divided into two stages: first, the body is dug out of a common grave, and only then it is reburied. All the bodies were put in bags and transported to the cemetery. Grobar also explained legal nuances to people. Many were looking for their relatives, so Igor advised to call the police first.
“A friend calls and says that parents were killed outside the village. I advise you to first call the police. Many say, let’s hide from the yard in the cemetery. But without a medical certificate and without the police, we cannot do this,” explained Igor.

Igor is accustomed to burying people, but the situation in Bucha is amazing
A guy from the age of 14 traveled to morgues with his father. He says that he is used to it, but the number of those killed and the age are amazing. He admits that he cannot even find the right words.
Some of the people who were found dead in a mass grave in Bucha, Igor and the guys who work with him, knew personally. Although it was difficult to recognize people, because they are already in a half-decomposed state.
Igor found in the grave the passport of his peer – born in 1991. Also, there were weak old people, women, children.
The Russians shot people just like that
Most people, according to Igor, died only because they were at the wrong time, in the wrong place. Their stories are told by neighbors.
Went out for a smoke – he was killed. He went out to feed the dog – he was killed. He was carrying something from one end of the city to the other – his car was shot, – said the coffin.
The first days the gravediggers in Bucha started work from 7-8 in the morning, as soon as dawn began and finished at 23. Now there are already bodies that are found in different places.

“This is my job”
Igor is sure of the importance of the work he does. Therefore, he stayed in the Kyiv region.
“I stayed here because of work. I had to do it,” the guy emphasized.
He added that during the war no one took money for the funeral. No one was told about the money, but if a person saw fit, he could pay.
Igor concluded that the war did not make his business profitable, but the coffins dispersed at a breakneck pace. Two days before of the war, a wagon of coffins came, now it is gone.
