Tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya became the fourth Ukrainian to reach the third round of the Grand Slam — Australian Open-2024.
In two sets, she beat ex-Russian Varvara Gracheva, , who has been representing France since 2023, with a score of 6 :3, 6:2.
The athletes spent 1 hour and 8 minutes on the court, during which Yastremskaya served five times, made one double fault and converted three out of four break points.

This was the first head-to-head meeting between the tennis players. In the opening game, Dayana took the lead 3:1 with a break in the fourth game and eventually took the set 6:3. In the second game, the Ukrainian lost only two games on her opponent’s serve and closed the set with a score of 6:2.
Yastremskaya was the last Ukrainian woman to play the second round match. Lesya Tsurenko, Marta Kostyuk and Elina Svitolina previously advanced to the third round.
Ukraine set a record for representation at this stage of the tournament. As for Yastremskaya, this is her second appearance in the third round on the Melbourne courts in her career.
In the first round, Yastremskaya created a sensation, defeating the reigning Wimbledon champion Vondrousova in 1 hour and 17 minutes.
