Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya sheathed her racket at the start of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai, losing to “neutral” Russian woman Veronika Kudermetova.
The Ukrainian was defeated after three games 0:6, 6:1, 0:6. In total, the tennis players spent 1 hour and 38 minutes on the court , for which Yatremskaya made two aces and made five double faults.
In the first game, Kudermetova scored three breaks and did not return a single serve. However, in the second set, Yastremskaya was able to return to the game and defeat her opponent 6:1.

However, in the decisive game, Dayana was unable to put the finishing touches on the athlete with a Russian passport. Instead, she was unable to take a single game from Kudermetova again, losing 0:6.
Previously, two Ukrainians, Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko, withdrew from the tournament due to injuries. However, in the second round of the tournament in the UAE there should be a representation of Ukraine, because the draw brought together Elina Svitolina and Angelina Kalinina in the starting round.
