Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who won gold at the 2024 Olympic Games, became the best track and field athlete of the year in Europe.

Mahuchikh was nominated for the title of World Athletics Athlete of the Year.
In early July, Yaroslava Mahuchikh broke the world record in high jump, clearing 2.10 meters. The previous world record, which belonged to Stefka Kostadinova (2.09 m), was set back in 1987.
