WTA Rankings: Kostyuk Retains Position, Tsurenko Drops Out of Top 100

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has published an updated ranking of female athletes following the competitions from October 7-13.

The world's number one tennis player remains Poland's Iga Swiatek,second place goes to “neutral” Aryna Sabalenka, and the top three is closed by American Coco Gauff.

The best result last week among Ukrainians was shown by our number one racket Marta Kostyuk, who reached the 1/8 finals of the last thousand-man tournament of the season in Wuhan (China).

WTA Ranking — what places do Ukrainian women occupy

The positions of Marta Kostyuk (17th place) and Dajana Yastremska (36) remained unchanged.

Elina Svitolina worsened her position by one point in the rating. Two more Ukrainian women from the top hundred Angelina Kalinina and Yulia Starodubtseva significantly lost their positions, and Lesya Tsurenkodropped to the second hundred.

There have been three changes in the top ten of the WTA rankings. American Coco Gauff has moved her compatriot Jessica Pegula from third to fourth place.

Czech Barbora Krejcikova has also dropped out of the top ten. Now the leader of the rankings is Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia.

The biggest tournaments in women's tennis this week are the WTA 250 in Ningbo, China, and the WTA 250 in Osaka, Japan.
