Russia has expended huge financial resources on the war with Ukraine. At the same time, unable to ensure the financial well-being of their people, ordinary Russians live in poverty and lack of rights.
Russians are deprived of basic guarantees
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this to the South Korean Parliament during an address on April 11, Channel 24 reports.
The worst thing is how Russia approaches the preparation and conduct of the war. For the inhabitants of Russia, conditions are deliberately created under which they are forced to live in total, hopeless poverty. When they cannot afford ordinary things: normal food, good household appliances, education,” Zelensky said.
Army is almost the only social elevator
The President added that Russians are deprived of basic guarantees of human rights, and military service is almost the only social elevator for them – an opportunity to get at least would something in life, try to provide for their families.
The Russians are simply shocked by the well-being of the neighboring state
Vladimir Zelensky also told the South Korean government about the looting of the Russians.
Having fallen into the war and entering the territory of a neighboring state, they are shocked by the standard of living. Shocked that people have enough food. Most of them did not see such benefits in their state, they massively stole and gave home equipment, clothes and other things, – the president added.
