Prosecutors proved that the Ukrainian was recruited back in 2007 by employees of the Russian FSB. Until February 2022, the traitor was secretly working for the enemy.
A government employee helped Russian intelligence to carry out subversive activities against Ukraine. In his position, he had access to information coming from the central authorities to the Cabinet. The official personally transferred this data to the Russian FSB officers for money.
The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv found the ex-employee guilty of high treason. In addition to the prison term, the traitor confiscated all his property.

The SBU noted that the head of the Department of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers agent “Kireev” was recruited when he traveled to Russia. From there, he returned with an operational pseudonym, a mobile phone to transmit information, and tasks.
Russian curators paid from 2 to 15 thousand dollars for information, depending on the level of secrecy and the importance of the collected data. After the SBU was exposed, the defendants confessed to their deeds, the secret service said.
For the entire period of his miserable activity, the traitor “earned” 27 thousand dollars.
