The Ukrainian government does not plan to develop a nuclear bomb, since such decisions would not change the situation at the front.
This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podolyak in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
Nuclear weapons will not change the situation on the front — Podolyak
This is how he commented on the article in The Times newspaper, which reported on Ukraine's alleged intentions to create nuclear weapons within a few months, if support from the United States ceases.

— If this really was a decision that could definitely change what was happening on the front, then it would be possible, despite all the legal and reputational difficulties, to go for it. But this is not the decision that will give us significant changes along the front line, — said Podolyak.
The adviser to the head of the OPU added that changes at the front could be facilitated by a sufficient number of weapons. No less important are long-range weapons, as well as permission to strike deep into Russian territory.
— This will definitely give (results at the front, — Ed..). And for this we need investment support in military production and direct deliveries of weapons that are in warehouses, — said Podolyak.
Allegedly the creation of nuclear weapons by Ukraine
The Times publication about Kyiv's intentions to create nuclear weapons, which was subsequently denied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, is not the first on this topic.
Before this, the German tabloid Bild wrote about the alleged thoughts of the Ukrainian authorities about creating nuclear weapons.
President Volodymyr Zelensky indicated that Ukraine does not intend to develop nuclear weapons, and between NATO and nuclear weapons, Kyiv chooses NATO.
