3 ports agreed during grain export negotiations/Channel 24 collage
At the talks between Ukraine and Russia, we managed to coordinate the work of three ports. It is already known where Ukraine will be able to export its grain without the intervention of the Russian military.
This was announced to journalists on July 20 by Rustem Umerov, a member of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks with Russia. He emphasized that in the future it is important to ensure the complete absence of enemy warships in the water area.
Grain export should take place through the following ports:
- “Odessa”;
- “Yuzhny”;
- “Chernomorsk”.
The list of export ports may grow
Narodny the chosen one expressed the hope that the number of ports through which exports will be carried out may soon increase. Compliance with safety rules will be monitored by a monitoring group under the auspices of the UN. Its headquarters will be located in Istanbul.
All recommendations of the naval forces, the armed forces must be observed. There are safe corridors, routes that we have developed together with the military, and all civilian ships will pass along these routes,” Umerov explained.
He added that this is not only about exports. After all, any civilian ships will be able to enter the ports from the agreed list. To do this, they only have to comply with safety recommendations.
All ships will be checked
The negotiating team member also said that the corridors do not mean that any cargo can be transported by sea. The UN Monitoring Group will check the shipments. This is necessary to avoid the transportation of weapons by civilian ships.
There should be no Russian ships in our waters. We don't trust them. Even if they sign an agreement with the UN. This is an aggressor country, and until they retreat to their borders, they cannot be trusted. But with regard to these corridors, we have developed a mechanism where there will be no control of these vessels (from Russia – Channel 24) in the sea, – said the people's deputy.
