With what and from what the Russians are hitting Ukraine, and are their stocks of missiles really unlimited?

by alex

The way the Russians use their anti-aircraft missiles against S-300 systems in the war against Ukraine can be described as follows phrase – “if you support Palestinian terrorists for too long, then you yourself start to fight like Palestinian terrorists.”

Missiles tend to run out

In fact, the possibility of firing from the S-300 at ground or surface targets was laid down by the designers of this air defense system during the Soviet era. And even specific goals were laid down – surface ships, infantry on the march or marines during the exit from landing ships. It's just, hmm, the military of the Soviet Union did not use such options, because then they had enough operational-tactical missiles. And until February 2022, the Russian army, in principle, did not conduct live firing from the S-300 at ground targets. But the Rashists had to remember this option against the background of the fact that their stock of ballistic missiles for the Iskanders was depleted to the level of 20% of the pre-war stocks.

“Gifts” of death from Russians

The peculiarity of anti-aircraft missiles to the S-300 (as well as to another type of air defense system) is that they do not directly blow up the target, they “shoot” a cloud of several thousand small fragments at it. At the same time, the speed of the rocket flight can exceed 4,000 kilometers per hour. That is why associative parallels with the tactics of the Palestinian terrorists arise here.

Those kind people who say that the Russians have Soviet missiles for the S-300 are simply limitless, they simply did not bother to find out the type of anti-aircraft missiles that are fired back from this SAM. Because interesting nuances emerge at this moment.

The first type of missiles for the S-300, which the Russians used for shelling ground targets, is the 5V55 with radio command guidance. In the case of firing at ground targets, the launch range is a maximum of 30 – 35 kilometers, which is only enough for shelling Kharkov from Belgorod, or earlier it was enough for attacks on Nikolaev from Novaya Kakhovka (because after the Armed Forces of Ukraine got the AGM-88 missile HARM, the Russians have become more careful in using their air defense systems).

Another type of missiles is 48N6, which, if fired at ground targets along a ballistic trajectory, can fly 100-110 kilometers. But in this case, the accuracy of shooting is kept at the level of “where God sends.” A range of a maximum of 110 kilometers is enough for the Russians only to “get” targets in the Vyshgorodsky district of the Kyiv region, such missiles will not be able to reach the capital purely physically.

The shortage breaks the plans of the killers

And the most the main nuance is that the 48N6 anti-aircraft missile is actually in short supply for the orcs, because it is this type of missile that is the main one for the S-400 air defense system. 300 from the Belarusian Zyabrovka” did not take place.

And these same anti-aircraft missiles actually “went” as a “payment” to the Lukashenka regime for its “services” in transferring ammunition, artillery systems and armored vehicles to the Belarusian army from storage bases.
