In the first game, Svitolina actually crushed her opponent in 27 minutes. Jabeur only took a game once on her serve.

But in the second set there was an even fight on the court — None of the tennis players managed to make a break, so the game went to a tiebreak. Svitolina reached match points with the score 6:3 and converted her second serve to enter the fourth round — 7:4.

For the Ukrainian, this is the first victory of the season over an opponent from the top ten of the WTA rankings. Elina's next opponent in the 1/8 finals of Wimbledon will be Chinese Xin Yu Wang, who is ranked 42nd in the WTA rankings.

Note that Svitolina remained the only Ukrainian in the Wimbledon singles. Dayana Yastremskaya and Marta Kostyuk were eliminated in the third round of Wimbledon.
