Ukraine's allies continue to join forces so that we get all the necessary weapons as soon as possible. “Tank Summit” was announced by Boris Pistorius during his visit to Poland.
The head of the German Ministry of Defense not only talked to his Polish counterpart. He also noted the importance of uniting all countries that donate Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
Pistorius initiated a “tank summit”
Pistorius arrived in Warsaw. During his visit, he met with Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak. The head of the defense department noted that a meeting with colleagues from Poland and Ukraine would take place next week. At the same timeplan to form an alliancearound the transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine. Moreover, he strives to ensure that this coalition includes as many allied countries as possible.
We also have a common project with Poland, namely, we will deliver the Leopard 2A6, Poland – 2A4, and we agreed with our colleague Mariusz Blashak that we will meet with Alexei Reznikov next week. – Pistorius noted.
He stressed that those states that will form the Leopard “tank coalition” will also be invited to this meeting.
During his visit, Pistorius noted that Germany is supplying Leopard 1A5 tanks. Our state will receive them from industrial resources from the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark. According to the head of the department, this is “a very positive development of events.” This will increase the defense capability of our state, he stressed.

Soon we will receive a Leopard battalion
< p> Pistorius told about this during his visit to Poland. According to him, Ukraine will receive the first battalion of German Leopard 2 tanks in the spring.
We could deliver at least one battalion during the first four months of this year – perhaps three months – and then we need to act as soon as possible,” he stressed.
This means that German tanks will arrive in Ukrainein March-April 2023. Pistorius also noted that the Leopard 2 battalion has about 31 combat vehicles.
