Will Ukraine receive an invitation to NATO in this year/Collage 24 Channel (illustrative photos) Ukraine will become a member of NATO, apparently, after the war. The priority now is to provide assistance for defense, not to invite them to the Alliance. This was stated by a representative of the US State Department. Daniel Isaac noted that continued cooperation within the Senate is expected to carry out reforms in Ukraine. The official noted that this year the North Atlantic Alliance turns 75. And lately it has been noticeable that the Alliance has been strengthening. In particular, this is influenced by the enlargement – the accession of Finland and the final steps towards the accession of Sweden. “This means that in fact NATO is larger and stronger for 75 years. This is also important the issue of communication between NATO and Ukraine,” Sizek emphasized. The State Department representative also noted that there are more and more conflicts in the world, and therefore there are more challenges. However, it can be noted that despite disagreements among NATO members, in the end the Alliance’s decision remains unanimous regarding Ukraine’s accession. Sizek cited last year’s summit in Vilnius as an example, where all members repeated that Ukraine has a place in NATO. NATO members know and understand that Ukrainians want to become a member of NATO immediately and as soon as possible faster. To be honest, this is not expected at the NATO summit this year… apparently after the war,” said a US State Department representative. Also added that continued cooperation within the framework of Senate to carry out reforms in Ukraine. In the meantime, the priority is to provide assistance to protect against Russian aggression.“Not expected at this NATO summit year”
