Will the United States help the United States return men from abroad – State Department response

by alex

The US State Department commented on the suspension of consular services abroad for Ukrainian men of mobilization age, calling it a “complex issue”.

The official representative of the US State Department Daniel Isaac in a commentary to Radio Liberty stated that the Ukrainian government has the right to determine its policy.

– It’s a difficult question, it’s clear what to do – especially with men who are now outside Ukraine. But the Ukrainian government has the right to determine its policy. There is no decision or position so far from the US government — to help or not to help Ukraine in this area, — Isaac answered the question whether the United States will help Ukraine with the return of men home.

He noted that the Ukrainian government should “act more carefully in this matter”. Isaac added that the United States government respects the right of the Ukrainian government to determine its policy.
