Anti-Jewish pogroms continue in Russia. All protests are organized by extremists with the support of the Kremlin.

This opinion was voiced to Channel 24 by the ex-ambassador of Israel to Russia Arkady Mil-Man. However, according to him, Vladimir Putin does not benefit from an increase in the number of pogroms.

“I think that this is not beneficial for Putin now. He was a little scared. Of course, he did not say any words of condemnation or compassion. They will now try to take measures to calm this situation. We will see if they can contain it,” he suggested.

Pogroms with the consent of the Kremlin

Arkady Mil-Man noted that Putin has long been waging an anti-Semitic campaign, and since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, this has intensified. Therefore, with the consent of the Kremlin, extremists can organize such pogroms.

Moreover, the police did nothing to stop the crowd that was looking for Jews at the airport. Only a few hours later a warning fire was fired from a helicopter.

This was organized with the consent of the Kremlin. 1,500 people just walked from home? They were transported by bus. There were instigators, someone made speeches, they had flags ready. There is no doubt who is behind this. These are extremist circles, the Kremlin, people interested in pogroms and terrorism,” he emphasized.

Anti-Jewish pogroms in Russia: the main thing

  • The pogroms began on October 29 at the Makhachkala airport, when a crowd of Dagestanis were looking for Jews who were allegedly supposed to arrive on a flight from Israel and checking their passports. Subsequently, anti-Jewish protests began in other Russian cities.
  • Israel called on Russian authorities to protect Israelis and Jews. However, the Russians cynically stated that they see an alleged “Ukrainian trace” in these pogroms.
  • US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller commented on Russian statements that Ukraine was allegedly involved in anti-Jewish pogroms in Dagestan. He stressed that these statements are absurd. He also called on the Kremlin to publicly condemn these violent protests, hold all those involved accountable, and ensure the safety of Israelis and Jews in Russia.
  • The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko, said that the pogroms in Dagestan are a consequence of the work of Russian propaganda. According to him, anti-Semitism has been propagated in Russia for years.
