• conscripts will be offered to sign a contract,
• their term in the armed forces will be extended by presidential decree.

Military expert noted that for the third scenario, that is, the signing of the corresponding decree by Putin, grounds are needed. For example, the introduction of a special period, a state of emergency or martial law.

In my opinion, you don’t even have to go to a fortune teller, you can say for sure – if they now transfer all the conscripts who should be demobilized in the fall to the category of mobilized, this will be a huge leap in terms of protest moods, Zhdanov is convinced.

He believes that in this case, the rallies against mobilization, which are now taking place in some places in Russia, will acquire a completely different character.

Can Russia mobilize 500,000 people

According to the military expert, today the state of the Ministry of Defense and the Russian economy is unlikely to “pull” 500,000 mobilized. But if we assume that the Russians still manage to recruit so many people, such a grouping will be ready for combat use not earlier than in six months. This is the shortest time needed to train and provide so many people.

“This is given the fact that they need not only to be taught, dressed and put on shoes, they also need to be handed equipment and weapons. This is a huge problem today “, Zhdanov emphasized.

But by the time they're ready, we'll be ready. And we have the advantage that we are provided with modern Western weapons,” he noted.

The same cannot be said about the Russian mobilized, because even the first wave that is being called up, and which will number about 100 thousand people, will receive old Soviet weapons and equipment, and not the modern modernized weapons that the troops that entered Ukraine in February had.

“Therefore, believe me, while they are preparing, we will also be preparing. We will not sit back and wait. In addition, we will fight, and the situation at the front will change, I think in our favor, because today we already have a strategic initiative on the front line,” Zhdanov summed up.
