Russia launched 5 Kalibr launch vehicles into the Black Sea at once, which poses a threat of a missile strike. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about weapons that can prevent enemy attacks from the Black Sea.
The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, said on the air of the telethon that the problem of launch vehicles could be solved by the F-16 fighter. He recalled that this is a unique and multi-purpose aircraft.
F-16s can destroy Russian ships
Ignat noted that the F-16 could be part of air defense, that is, to shoot down incoming missiles, in particular, against our critical infrastructure.
He explained that the fighter could cover areas where we do not have anti-aircraft forces and means. “This practice is used all over the world,” Ignat added.
In addition, the spokesman said that the F-16 fighter jet can deliver missile and bomb strikes at a great distance. “This aircraft has a wide range of weapons, everything that NATO countries use,” Ignat said.
In particular, the F-16 can carry Harpoon missiles designed to destroy surface targets. “Our sea can quickly be put in order,” Ignat summed up.
How many missile carriers Russia brought to the Black Sea
- The representative of OK “South” Natalya Gumenyuk on the morning of March 1 said that Russia had withdrawn 15 ships to the Black Sea, of which 5 were launch vehicles. These ships are equipped with up to 32 Caliber missiles.
- Among the enemy missile carriers there are submarines, the launch of missiles from which is difficult for the air defense forces to detect.
- Natalya Gumenyuk stressed that such a number of launch vehicles had not been recorded in the Black Sea for a long time. Therefore, there is a high risk of a threat of a missile strike.
