Will Putin decide to mobilize: Gallyamov explained the Kremlin’s position Dzvenislava Moshovskaya

Russia is waging a brutal war against Ukraine, which requires spending a lot of human resources. Many Russians agree to sign a contract, because they pay big money there, but this may still not be enough and Vladimir Putin will have to declare mobilization.

Russian opposition political strategist Abbas Gallyamov told Channel 24 about this, noting that no one knows yet what mobilization in Russia will look like. However, it is obvious that the border of the aggressor country is not protected at all. This was shown by the Kursk operation.

Putin is afraid of mobilization

Abbas Gallyamov noted that Russia is catastrophically short of people. If the Kremlin dictator understood how society would react to mobilization and what consequences it would have for his rule, he would have announced it long ago.

Putin does not know what to do and therefore is holding back for now, but at some point mobilization will take place. It is difficult to recruit people into the army with money, because resources in Russia are not unlimited, he noted.

The Russian authorities are constantly having to increase payments, but there are still not enough people. According to the political strategist, Russia cannot simultaneously advance in Donbas and push the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the Kursk region.

“I think that at some point Moscow will have to resort to mobilization, despite all the risks,” said Abbas Gallyamov.

In his opinion, Putin believes that it is better to announce a draft and achieve some results thanks to this, than not to announce it and be left without a victorious “fairy tale” for the Russians.

Please note! ISW analysts note that the Kremlin has not completely overcome local protests after the previous partial mobilization, in particular protests by the wives of those mobilized. Putin is trying to attract volunteers and irregular formations to avoid a negative public reaction to the new forced conscription.
