“I repeat once again, the theoretical possibility for these negotiations existed. Unfortunately, a situation arose in which the parties, I mean Russia and China, played a game that does not allow us to even begin consultations at the moment regarding negotiations.”
The political expert noted that in the absence of any extraordinary events, the Geneva summit can only confirm the status quo.
“The collective West does not accept, categorically does not accept, Vladimir Putin’s plan to end the war,” the expert said.
He recalled that Western partners have provided Ukraine with weapons, which they believe should last until about the spring of 2025. So the news continues to support us.
“On the other hand, the People's Republic of China will play a very important role in ending this war. Therefore, they (Western representatives – ed.) do not put on Geneva and, in principle, they will continue to occupy the position of some kind of observer, watching what is happening, including on the battlefield. That is, to say that now by Geneva something will radically change in the collective West, I would like to be mistaken, but I do not see any prerequisites,” he explained. political expert.
