Italy is not going to send its army to Ukraine. The country fears escalation.

This statement was made by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani at a meeting of G7 foreign ministers on Monday, November 25. This was reported by 24 Kanal with reference to ANSA.

Italy says it is helping Ukraine, but will not send troops

Tajani said that Italy will not send “a single soldier to fight in Ukraine.”

We are helping Kyiv politically, financially and militarily by sending aid, but we will not send troops to fight in Ukraine, the politician said.

According to him, Italy must avoid escalation.

The head of the Italian Foreign Ministry also said that “Russia is taking on serious responsibility by forcing North Korean soldiers to fight and involving the Houthis and Iranian proxies.”

By the way, Italy is also cautious about allowing Ukraine to strike Russian targets with American weapons.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also stated that her country will not change its strategy of supporting Ukraine through air defense and will act in accordance with its priorities. At the same time, she noted that other states can choose their own approach.
