Will change everything – a US politician on Washington’s position on banning strikes on Russia Victoria Grabovskaya

After another Russian attack on Kyiv, when the Okhmatdyt children's hospital came under attack, Ukraine once again called on Western countries to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons. However, the corresponding decision has not yet been made.

Public and political figure from the USA Yuri Rashkin said 24 Channel that at the same time, the United States previously granted permission to Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory at a distance of 100 kilometers. Let us recall that this is precisely what made it possible to stop the enemy’s advance in the Kharkov direction.

The emotions of Ukrainians are understandable

However, Ukraine needs to have more opportunities to strikeat Russian airfields, where their bombers are located, at weapons depots, military production and other facilities.

It is clear that when the Ukrainians do not have light for several hours at a time, what patience can we talk about. This is not exactly what Vladimir Putin is counting on – for Ukrainians to be in a difficult psychological state. Therefore, I understand people who express themselves emotionally in comments on my accounts on social networks,” noted Yuri Rashkin.

However, when Ukrainians express dissatisfaction with the fact that the United States supposedly could have done more for Ukraine, this in no way affects the official position of the United States.

At the same time, attacks by Western missiles at a distance of 100 kilometers are already permitted. In this sense, hitting even 1 meter beyond this distance will change everything. After this, it is already necessary to say that there is no need to hit Moscow and the Kremlin. “And for everything else, please,” the politician emphasized.

Permission to strike deep into Russian territory: briefly

  • Russia launched an offensive in the Kharkov region in May, which forced Ukraine to once again turn to its Western partners for permission to use their weapons on Russian territory. After this, the corresponding strikes were approved by Great Britain, Sweden and other countries.
  • At the same time, the United States allowed our country to launch strikes from the HIMARS and GMLRS MLRS systems on Russian territory near the border in Kharkov region. However, the United States has left restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range ATACMS missiles to strike Russia.
