Will Have Negative Consequences: How China Is Stepping Up Its Participation in the War Natalia Belzetskaya

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Russia for the BRICS summit. On October 22, he also held talks with Vladimir Putin, which likely concerned the war in Ukraine and deepening cooperation between Russia and China.

President of the public organization “Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine” Artur Kharitonov told Channel 24 that some leaders, in particular Saudi Arabia, did not arrive for BRICS. Despite this, the summit is going well for autocratic countries.

What could Xi and Putin talk about

The leaders of the countries that have arrived in Russia have their own goals. They will discuss an alternative financial system, the creation of a model by which autocracies can exist in a parallel anti-sanction space and conduct active life, in particular wars.

It is worth understanding that what China is developing, and with it Russia, will have negative consequences for all of us, for all democracies, in the medium term. Therefore, in no case should this threat be underestimated, – emphasized Artur Kharitonov.

As for the negotiations between Xi and Putin, we do not know about their final agreements. The conversation between the two dictators took place behind closed doors. However, their delegations are always verbose.

It has already become a tradition that when Putin appears in the PRC, the entire government goes with him, all the heads of state top enterprises, especially energy ones. Now Xi has arrived with all the financial, economic ministers, high-ranking officials in the field of national security.

Undoubtedly, we will be talking about a deeper integration of Russia into the Chinese economic, financial and military space. We see how they are combining their military-industrial complex systems and all this will happen in the future, – noted Artur Kharitonov.

Of course, this will have negative consequences. We are already seeing them in the example of Chinese kamikaze drones, which are made similar to the “Shaheds”. These drones are produced in Chinese factories and then supplied for the Russian war. They have already been used against energy facilities in Ukraine, civilian infrastructure and our positions.

“China is the same participant in the war as Iran and North Korea. It is simply impossible to look for any other meaning for the PRC,” concluded Artur Kharitonov.
