What is the UN and how to get there
The United Nations (UN) was created in 1945 after World War II. Its main goal is to maintain peace and prevent new bloodshed, strengthening peace, security and cooperation between countries.
The admission of a new state must be carried out according to the procedure provided for by the organization's charter. A candidate for membership must prove that he or she meets the legal conditions set out in the charter.
For example, being a European State is for the European Economic Community, or recognizing the principle of the primacy of law and the principle that any person subject to its jurisdiction must enjoy human rights and fundamental freedoms for the Council of Europe.
Some difficulties with joining the UN may still arise in the event of a divided state (such as Korea).
