Ukrainian Armed Forces are destroying command posts and warehouses in the Kherson region. They also recently hit the Antonovsky bridge. However, the Ukrainian military bypasses the railway bridge in the Kherson region, and there are several reasons for this.

Alexander Musienko, a military expert and head of the Center for Military Legal Research, told Channel 24 about this. He explained why the railway bridge is still intact.

Why the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not destroy the railway bridge in Kherson

According to him, one of the reasons is that Russian troops are given the opportunity to leave Kherson under pressure from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Such a scenario is also beneficial for us, because we will not suffer losses in battles, and this is Ukrainian land, so no one is interested in massive hostilities so as not to die civilians, and this would require less effort for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Musienko explained.

He noted that the second reason is that the plans to liberate the occupied territories are not finished on the right bank of Kherson either.

“And destroying all the logistics now, so that later it will take a long time to restore it – this is short-sighted, because we will also need to somehow move around“, the expert said.

He also explained why the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet completely destroyed the Antonovsky bridge. “It is important here to demonstrate that the Ukrainian army has taken fire control of the Russian army in the Kherson region. The way of pressure on the occupiers is important here,” says Musiyenko.

It is important for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to demonstrate to the Russians that all their supplies, warehouses will be destroyed, they will be attacked and air defenses will be destroyed, so the best scenario is to withdraw, the expert noted.

He assured that if The Armed Forces of Ukraine reach the Antonovsky bridge and the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, and if necessary, they will also receive a railway bridge.

The invaders in the Kherson region have three options< /h2>

Musienko said that today the group of Russian troops that are on the right bank of the Kherson region, remains three ways out of this situation:

  • without proper logistic support to continue the fight, but this is a losing scenario,
  • move further, that is, leave the occupied areas of Kherson region,
  • simply surrender.

The liberation of Kherson from the occupiers: the main thing

  • Advisor to the head of the Kherson OVA Serhiy Khlan said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would liberate the Kherson region by September. According to him, a turning point has come at the front in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the Ukrainian military are moving from defense to counteroffensive.
  • On July 19, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Antonovsky bridge across the Dnieper in Kherson. If this bridge is blown up, then the invaders will not be able to retreat when the Armed Forces of Ukraine will squeeze them out of Kherson.
  • That is why the Russians are in a hurry to organize the so-called “referendum”. The representative of the “administration” of the occupiers Vladimir Rogov announced the order to create “election commissions”.
  • President Volodymyr Zelensky informed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are confidently moving and driving away the occupiers in the Kherson region.
  • Our troops are actually ” blocked” the supply of Russian heavy equipment to the right bank of Kherson. The President's Office advised the Russians to leave Kherson after the strike on the Antonovsky Bridge.
