Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited China again and talked nonsense. They say that the aggressor country is ready to start negotiations with the West and discuss, in particular, the situation in Ukraine.

Military observer Denis Popovich told Channel 24 that Shoigu's remarks fit into the overall puzzle of negotiations and Russia's offensive.

“We are given the following announcements: “We will sit down at the negotiating table on so-called ‘realistic’ terms.” We are talking about taking a current position on the battlefield and concluding a “truce,” that is, freezing the war,” Popovich stated.

Further, in some medium term, Russia may gather its strength and repeat offensive actions, but in more favorable conditions.

What does the activation near Avdeevka have to do with this?

Since the beginning of October, the Russians have intensified offensive actions along the entire line of contact, including in the Avdeevsky direction. The occupiers need at least some kind of victory to begin negotiations from a position of strength.

“This victory is needed to get the corresponding case. They say that the Ukrainian offensive is developing slowly and has not yet achieved its goals, but we have surrounded Avdiivka,” Popovich noted.

Let us note that the enemy does not have significant successes near Avdeevka and continues to suffer losses.
