On the air of Channel 24, political scientist Vladimir Fesenko emphasized that at the same time, attention should be paid to Russia's rejection of gas blackmail.

He noted that a scenario was discussed a week ago in which the aggressor could completely stop supplies gas to Europe. However, she did not do this, and even resumed deliveries.

Why am I talking about this? All this indicates that Putin does not risk aggravating the situation. He could now actually declare an energy war on the West,” Vladimir Fesenko emphasized.

According to him, he cannot declare a food war on the West, because there is no such dependence there. Along this path, it is important to look good in front of the countries of Asia and Africa.

“There are such geopolitical games of Putin here. However, the main thing is that he is not ready to risk everything now. Not ready to go for aggravation of the situation in order to provoke a total crisis in the world,” the political scientist explained.

According to Fesenko, this indirectly indicates that the internal situation in Russia is not so good. That is why Putin does not risk going into an unequivocal conflict with the West.

In this sense, the good news is that Putin still has a certain rationality. And that means you can put pressure on him. With some, perhaps, exceptions, but in such a way as to force him to an agreement, – said Vladimir Fesenko.

“This is how we force Putin on the battlefield to make the so-called “goodwill gestures” – near Kyiv, near the Serpent's Island. This is not just happening, but under pressure from Ukrainian troops. Putin cannot hold some territories, so he is forced to retreat,” – added the political scientist.

He summed up that the signed grain agreement is also a forced “gesture of good will” on the part of the Russians, because otherwise it would be worse for them.
