“Whoever hopes for Minsk-3 is naive”: Lithuania called on the EU to reconsider its strategy towards Ukraine

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that Ukrainians are capable of winning the war with Russia. However, according to him, partners must change strategy and provide Kiev with all the weapons they need.

Currently, the Ukrainian army uses 6 times fewer missiles than the Russian one. Gabrielius Landsbergis reported this on the eve of the EU Council meeting, reported by a 24 Channel correspondent in Brussels.

According to the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, “Ukrainians are able to ensure their victory” because “they have demonstrated the ability, knowledge and competence in many things.” He added that the problem now is the availability of equipment and ammunition.

This means that for every six missiles the Russians can fire at the Ukrainians, the Ukrainians fire only one. Therefore, it is a miracle that they are able to resist, said Gabrielius Landsbergis.

The Lithuanian Foreign Minister noted that for the sake of Ukraine’s victory, Europe must change its strategy. According to him, Russia is now “all in to destroy Ukraine.”

Landsbergis believes that if Ukraine is defeated, the Nordic and Baltic countries will become Putin’s next targets, because he does not intend to stop.

Those who hope that something like “Minsk-3” will again become a solution, they are naive and this is a very polite word that I use,” said Landsbergis.

The so-called “Minsk-3”: what about it known

Head of the Presidential Office Andrei Ermak in November 2023 said in an interview with the Moseychuk+ project at the end of October that there would be no “Minsk-3”. He noted that “under this president (Vladimir Zelensky – Channel 24) there will be no “Minsk-3”.

Back in April 2022, Russia stated that Belarus should become a guarantor of security for Ukraine. Military expert Oleg Zhdanov said on Channel 24 that in this way they want to drag Ukraine into “Minsk-3”, and this could negatively affect the course of the war.
