Old age pensionis assigned when men and women reach 60 years of age and have at least 31 years of insurance experience. If a person does not have 31 years of insurance experience when he reaches 60 years of age (retirement age), he will be able to retire later. Early retirement: to whom it concerns
The Law of Ukraine On Compulsory State Pension Insurance provides for early retirement for a certain category of persons. Let's look at who is eligible for early retirement in 2024.

The following have the right:
- military personnel, privates and commanding officers of internal affairs bodies who took part in hostilities;
- military personnel, commanding and rank-and-file personnel of internal affairs bodies who became disabled due to wounds, contusions, injuries received while defending Ukraine or while performing other official duties, or persons who received illnesses associated with their stay at the front;
- people with visual impairments of group I — blind people and people with group I disabilities since childhood (but not earlier than 10 years for men and 15 years for women before reaching retirement age) if men have at least 15 years of insurance experience and at least 10 years of insurance experience for women;
- women who gave birth to five or more children;
- mothers of children with disabilities since childhood, who raised them until the age of eight, also have the right to an early age pension, but not earlier than 5 years before reaching retirement age;
- employees with whom the employment contract was terminated at the initiative of the owner (the body authorized by him) due to changes in the organization of production and labor, including reorganization, conversion, liquidation of enterprises, institutions, organizations, reduction in the number or staff of employees 1.5 years before the retirement age established by law, subject to registration of persons with the State Employment Service and the absence of appropriate work for them;
- employees of pre-retirement age whose employment contract was terminated due to the employee’s inadequacy for the position held due to health reasons (one and a half years before the retirement age established by law).
Early retirement is possible for workers employed full-time and employed in underground work, in work with particularly harmful and particularly difficult working conditions.
The right to early retirement on preferential terms can be used by:
- men upon reaching 50 years of age with at least 20 years of work experience, of which at least 10 years — in hazardous work;
- women upon reaching 45 years of age with at least 15 years of work experience, of which at least 7 years 6 months — in hazardous work.
Conditions for early retirement of combatants
UBD age for early retirement:
- men — upon reaching 55 years of age with at least 25 years of insurance experience;
- women — upon reaching 50 years of age with at least 20 years of insurance experience.
The right to receive an old-age pension with a reduction in the retirement age is given to military personnel, senior and rank-and-file officers of internal affairs bodies, and police officers who took part in:
- in combat;
- in anti-terrorist operations in the areas where they are carried out;
- in the implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, repulse and contain Russia’s armed aggression in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions;
- in case of direct participation in the implementation of measures necessary to ensure the defense of Ukraine, protect the safety of the population and the interests of the state in connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
