Who has the right to deferment from mobilization: the Armed Forces of Ukraine reminded how long it lasts

by alex

General mobilization continues in Ukraine due to martial law and full-scale Russian invasion. The Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to remind which of those liable for military service has the right to a deferment.

The answer to this question was given on the air by the Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Melnychuk. He recalled that the full list of those who can receive a deferment is clearly indicated in the Law on Mobilization and Mobilization Training.

And it is precisely in order for the military registration and enlistment office not to issue an invitation to a person liable for military service, he must update the data himself. This will save time for both the person himself and the institution.

The military registration and enlistment office must understand all the changes that are happening to him (the conscript – Channel 24). If a person has a third child, this accordingly gives the right to a deferment. Or the state of health has worsened and so on,” Melnychuk noted.

He stressed that the full list of those who can receive a deferment from mobilization is specified in Article 23 of the Law on mobilization and mobilization training.

< p>Here are a few categories that may qualify for a deferment from mobilization:

  • booked workers;
  • persons with a disability that makes them temporarily unfit for up to 6 months;
  • women and men who support three or more children under 18;
  • women and men who are constantly caring for a sick husband (wife) child or parents (their own or a partner);
  • students and teachers and others.

Important! The grace period is six months. After this period, the decision is reviewed. For example, you will need to bring fresh documents to confirm your status or go through a medical examination again.

Why more often subpoenas are issued on the street

According to Melnichuk, there is a good reason for this. Those liable for military service are invited to the TCC to update their data. This applies to those who, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, have not done this.

At the same time, he stressed that in this case, an invitation to the military registration and enlistment office is more likely to be issued, rather than a summons. Up-to-date information is added during the visit. Also, a person liable for military service can undergo a medical examination so that doctors can determine the state of his health at a particular moment.
