Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are trying to penetrate the territory of Ukraine. First of all, they are aimed to track down the location of the defenders and find out how our defenses are built.
Andrey Demchenko, the speaker of the State Border Service, spoke about this on the air of the national telethon. He also noted in which areas the enemy is most actively using the DRG.
In what areas is DRG most often recorded?
Over the past few months, our military has recorded a more active use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the Kharkiv region. The DRG was also monitored in Sumy. The speaker of the GNSU noted that it cannot be said that they are quite active, but, of course, there are such cases.
By the way, according to Demchenko, the Russians used DRG more actively on New Year's Eve. However, the Defense Forces detect such groups, defeat them, and they retreat behind the border line.
The use of such DRGs by the enemy is primarily aimed at revealing the places where the Ukrainian defenders are based, how our defense is built. In order to also inflict defeat from artillery, mortars, – said the speaker of the State Border Service.
Demchenko also stressed that virtually every day the enemy shells the border areas of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions. In addition, it hits that part of the Kharkiv region, where the invaders were driven back beyond the border.
The Russians are trying to hit our defenders. Such actions of the enemy are a threat to the civilian population. After all, the enemy sometimes strikes chaotically or precisely at settlements, from which civilians suffer and infrastructure is destroyed.
Note! On February 22, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups tried to break into the Kharkiv region twice a day. Our soldiers discovered Russian DRGs in the Bologovka area. From the powerful fire response of the Ukrainian defenders, the enemy retreated to Russia.
