Rostov region has been burning for days: why this region is important to the occupiers Melania Golembyovskaya

“Good” drones flew to the Rostov region on the evening of December 23. This region serves as a logistical rear for the Russians, where facilities are based that Ukraine needs to work on.

So, yesterday there was an attack on a military airfield in Millerovo, after which a fire broke out. The head of the “Center for the Study of Occupation” Petr Andryushchenko told Channel 24 about this, noting that the enemy maintains aircraft at the airfield to shell positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

An important region for the occupiers

According to the leader, the attack continued until midnight, with more than 10 explosions. Officially, the governor of the Rostov region reported that at first the Russian air defense shot down 4 UAVs, then the number of downed drones increased to 8.

A fire broke out after the attack. I think that later our “correspondents” from the scene will give us enough information for our OSINT investigators to understand what we got to,” Andryushchenko noted.

Interesting! Forbes, citing the Ukrainian analytical group Frontelligence Insight, reported that the essence of Ukrainian deep strikes does not always consist in the destruction of individual buildings or units of equipment. The goal is to constantly increase the cost of war for Russia by instilling fear.

There is a Russian airfield in Millerovo in Rostov Oblast. The occupiers have stationed their tactical aircraft there, which carry out bombing along the front line. It is obvious that both missiles and KABs are stored there, which attack Ukrainian defenders.

For the last two weeks, we have seen systematic work in Rostov Oblast, which is the main logistical rear for the Russians – the airfield in Millerovo, which must be finished off, the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk, which recently finally stopped its work. There is also an airfield in Azov, several oil refineries, so there is something to work on, he emphasized.

Recall that Vladimir Zelensky assured that Ukraine will continue to strike Russian military facilities with drones and missiles.
