The Russian military continues to produce its weapons, although sanctions have been imposed on the aggressor country. Unfortunately, they are helped to obtain components in some countries.

The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region, Andrei Chernyak, told us for our material who is helping the enemy “in the dark” to import components. The Russian invaders use them to continue making their weapons.

Who helps circumvent sanctions

Countries that did not support Western sanctions contribute to this. They either directly help Russia or do not create problems for the aggressor country.

The enemy registers gasket companies. They purchase conditional microchips in Western countries. After this, these parts are sent to Russian military-industrial complex facilities.

To reduce the flow of components critical for Russian missiles, export control mechanisms need to be strengthened. To achieve this, Ukraine works closely with partners in Europe and the USA.

They mainly help Russians import components to the “gray” countries of Asia, the largest of which is China. There are a number of companies in China that are helping Russia obtain Western microchips. Beijing itself provides dual-use technologies to Moscow, although it declaratively and politically takes a neutral position on Russia’s war against Ukraine. The occupiers received a fairly significant part of the technologies and components from Iran, notes Chernyak.

According to him, there are several states in which Russians register shell companies. True, now there is a constructive and effective dialogue with them. Its goal is to eliminate problems of sanctions circumvention. We are talking about Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia and the UAE.

Andrei Chernyak also noted that a third of Russian missile industry enterprises are within the reach of unknown drones. That is why these UAVs systematically attack military targets of Russian invaders.

This makes it more difficult to manufacture drones and missiles. And this is precisely what the enemy is focusing on after the defeats he suffered in Ukraine during a year and a half of a full-scale invasion.
