President Volodymyr Zelensky/Office of the President
Some Western states politically hide behind the risk of nuclear war in order not to stand up for Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia. However, President Zelensky is sure that it is impossible to predict Russia's actions.
The head of state spoke about this in an interview with the 60 Minutes program of the American CBS television channel. Zelensky is sure that Ukraine is not the ultimate goal of the Russians.
No one can predict Russia's actions
No one can can predict what Russia will do, regardless of whether there is a war in Ukraine or not. If they advance through Ukraine, then they will definitely move along Europe,” Zelensky explained.
Over time, Russia will become less predictable. The occupiers use weapons not on their territory, so any reason can be found. Now it is Ukraine, the president stressed, and tomorrow it could again be Syria or the Caucasus.
There is no point in hiding behind nuclear threats
Zelensky is sure that now it is pointless to hide behind nuclear threats coming from Russia. The president says he asked for sanctions against Moscow even before the invasion. He was told that they would do it as soon as the foot of a Russian soldier sets foot on Ukrainian soil. Zelensky even then expressed the position that this would not stop Putin, because it was impossible to predict him.
