Ukrainian Armed Forces hit Antonovsky Bridge
Late in the evening of July 26, reports began to appear on the network about explosions near the Antonovsky bridge in Kherson. On the morning of July 27, Natalya Gumenyuk, speaker of the Southern Defense Forces, confirmed the attacks on the bridge. At the same time, she stressed that the work of our artillery is so scrupulous and jewelry that it is more aimed at demoralizing the enemy troops.
According to her, our forces keep strategically important logistics and transport routes under fire control. They are critical to the enemy. This does not allow him to maneuver, pull up forces and ammunition. Gumenyuk also noted that the Ukrainian army is destroying not the infrastructure of our country, but the plans of the enemy. After all, we appreciate everything that we have.
Where the bridge is located
Antonovsky bridge is a crossing that connects Kherson with the occupied parts of the left bank. Its length is about 1.5 kilometers. For Russians, the object is of strategic value, since it is with them that they receive ammunition for the units of the Russian army, which are deployed in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. At the same time, the nearest crossing over the Dnieper is located in Nova Kakhovka, 90 kilometers away.

According to the adviser to the head of the Kherson military administration, Serhiy Khlan, the Armed Forces of Ukraine could attack the Antonovsky bridge in Kherson exactly when the Russian occupiers transported equipment to them. Therefore, probably, in addition to destroying the strategically important route for the occupiers, the Ukrainian defenders liquidated both the occupiers themselves and enemy equipment.

Advisor to the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak stressed that the Russian invaders should learn to swim across the Dnieper. He also advises to leave Kherson voluntarily while there is a possibility, because, according to him, there may not be a third warning.

Military analyst Oleg Zhdanov stressed that the destruction of the Antonovsky bridge “would greatly complicate the enemy's logistics, which would not allow them to fully feed their groups around Kherson.” After all, this is practically the point on which direct transport links with the temporarily seized Crimea depend.
He also urged all Ukrainians not to ignore the alarms in any case. After all, if the destruction of the Antonovsky Bridge is confirmed, the Russians will want to respond in their usual way – by strikes on peaceful cities.
