< p _ngcontent-sc90="" class="news-annotation">On October 20, all Ukrainians were urged to save energy as much as possible. In general, consumption was reduced by 5.4%.

Prime Minister Denis Shmigal said this during a government meeting, reports Channel 24. He noted that restrictions and shutdowns are still possible, especially in regions with traditionally high consumption and in those affected by rocket attacks. We are talking about the central, north-eastern and western regions.

Shmihal named the regions-record holders in energy savings

The prime minister said that almost all territories controlled by Ukraine are provided with electricity.

“Now 99% of the settlements where there is no electricity on a permanent basis are either occupied territories or settlements in the immediate vicinity of the war zone, and there are no opportunities to make repairs,” Shmigal added.

He stressed that power engineers can still turn off electricity for a while, but this is done to carry out repairs and balance the operation of the Ukrainian energy system. At the same time, it is important to continue saving electricity in the morning and evening to prevent blackouts.

This applies not only to the population, but also to businesses. Yesterday, Ukrainians reduced their consumption by 5.4% in the evening compared to the previous day. This is our answer to the enemy, and so it is necessary to continue! – stressed the head of government.

Smihal said that the most reduced electricity consumption:

  • Chernivtsi region,
  • Khmelnytsky region,
  • < li>Poltava region,

  • Sumy region.

“Let's continue to help our energy system and power engineers throughout the country and use electricity economically for this,” the prime minister said.

The head of government summed up that, unfortunately, the fact that Russian terror will continue is obvious. It concerns not only the energy system of Ukraine, but also water supply and heat supply facilities. Therefore, interruptions are possible, therefore all Ukrainians must be ready, namely:

  • to make a supply of technical and drinking water,
  • to have warm clothes, batteries, flashlights, power banks.

There will be no electricity in some regions

In Ukrenergo 21 October introduced a temporary restriction of electricity consumption in a number of areas. In particular, the lights can be turned off in:

    • Kyiv and Kyiv region,
    • Chernihiv region,
    • Cherkasy region
    • in Zhytomyr region.

Such restrictions will help reduce the load on the power grid, which will give power engineers time to repair damaged equipment.
