Abolition of subsidies in Poland
The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration announced changes for Ukrainian refugees.
In particular, we are talking about the abolition of subsidies for centers where refugees live from July 2024.
Today there are almost 40 thousand Ukrainians in collective living centers, for each of them the state pays 40 zlotys (392 UAH) daily.
— The fact that the number of Ukrainians provided with housing by their employer has increased almost 2.5 times compared to 2022 has a logical explanation. Historically, Ukrainians came to Poland for temporary work. At the beginning of a full-scale war, Poland received the largest number of Ukrainians who did not immediately find work.
Some had savings, some went to other EU countries, some returned to Ukraine. The majority of Ukrainians who want to work remain in Poland. They mainly use housing provided by their employer, — explained the director of the recruitment department of Gremi Personal Anna Jobolda.
The agency adds that the number of employed Ukrainians in Poland at the end of February 2024 was 755 thousand
