The United States still has not allocated $61 billion to help Ukraine. Consequently, the Pentagon announced when the funds allocated to support our state will dry up.

As noted in the Pentagon, by the end of the year the ministry funds will run out to replace weapons sent to Ukraine. And it will happen before December 30, if Congress does not approve new funding. Please note that this is the first time the exact date on which the funds will run out has been announced.

Accounts will be empty in a matter of days

It is known that The Pentagon is spending its last $1.07 billionfor the purchase of new weapons and equipment that will replace what was removed from service and sent to Ukraine. Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord announced this in a letter dated December 15. He noted that in 15 days – December 30 – the defense department's accounts will be empty.

“Once these funds are used, the department will exhaust the funding available to us to provide security assistance to Ukraine,” McCord wrote in a letter to the heads of the defense policy and appropriations committees of the US House of Representatives and Senate.

Trying to influence Congress

With this letter they are trying to increase pressure on Congress to break the impasse on the issue of allocating $61 billion to Ukraine USA. It was this amount that Joe Biden asked for so that our state could repel Russian aggression.

At the same time, the Republicans are slowing down the allocation of appropriate assistance. They say the package should also include steps to strengthen security along the US border with Mexico. Otherwise, they do not plan to approve it. White House officials are negotiating with senators to reach a common denominator.

To protect US military readiness in the absence of congressional action to approve additional spending , the department expects that only one additional package of cuts will be possible, McCord said.

Please note that on December 12, the Biden administration announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. Its amount is 200 million dollars. It includes artillery shells, small arms ammunition and other weapons.
