When will the heat end in Ukraine – meteorologist's forecast

by alex

For more than a week, abnormal heat has been recorded in Ukraine. ICTV facts were learned from meteorologist, candidate of geographical sciences Igor Kibalchich, when the heat in Ukraine subsides.

What causes the heat in Ukraine

The weather forecaster notes that July is considered the hottest month of summer; the maximum temperature in some years reaches +41°C. At this time there are powerful thunderstorms and downpours, which are often accompanied by gusty winds. According to weather forecasters, maximum daytime temperatures in the first ten days of this month can reach +39°C.

The northern regions will be most lucky, where the heat will not linger for long. But the southern, eastern and central regions will suffer from heat and lack of rain. According to the weather forecaster, this heat is caused by the blocking of synoptic processes over the regions of the middle and upper Volga, which is associated with a warm anticyclone.

This anticyclone is inactive and is fixed over Eastern Europe, which provokes rapid warming and stagnation of the air mass. In the western regions of Ukraine there will be more comfortable temperatures with more rain.

When the heat will end in Ukraine

In the second and third ten days of July, the temperature will decrease slightly due to the weakening of the anticyclone and due to the intensification of synoptic processes in the west. But the weather will remain quite hot.

As for precipitation in the second and third ten days of July, it will exceed the norm in the western part of Ukraine. But there will be very little precipitation in the south and east. According to the forecast, heavy downpours are expected on some days, which will be complemented by strong wind squalls and hail.

— A slight weakening of the heat is expected on July 5-6 (except for the southeastern part) against the background of a short-term change in the air mass, — the weather forecaster notes.

But then, in the second half of the first ten days of July, hot air will return to most of the country.

— At this time, in the south and in the far east, daily maximum temperatures can reach +40°C in places. Therefore, approximately until July 13-14, significant changes in the weather and significant cooling are not expected, — says the meteorologist.
